Really delicious food. I had the fattoush salad with chicken we had the baba ghanoush, my daughter had the veggie plate and my husband had a mixed plate with chicken shawarma and falafel and hummus. Everything was excellent. I am still partial to La Saj being our favorite but definitely will be eating here again!

I love this place! It's cheap, it's delicious and the service is friendly. My favorites: chicken shawarma sandwich, the lamb/chicken shawarma dinner plater, and grape leaves. And the garlic paste and pita--mega yum! The servings are generous, and definitely enough for two. The service is pretty fast, and the food is always great. Really, there's no reason not to go here.

How many times have I driven by & not seen this place? [sigh] Went on Sunday, was promptly greeted by RITA, who was a fantastic server. The $6.99 lunch special is where its at: Pita Sandwich [ your choice of meat] Soup or Salad and a 20 ounce drink plus they lay out this fabulous garlic dip & pitas I had the $7.49 lamb kabob over rice with a fattouch salad F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S You know how some places over cook the meat & it is grizzled NOT here , it was medium rare as requested, and every time I hit it with my fork , it was still moist. The fattoush side salad was very hearty & the light dressing was perfect! Planning & Plotting my next visit....

Cedar is one of my favorite places to go for lunch. They give you complimentary garlic and pita bread which is delicious. I have only tried their chicken schwarma sandwich and it is amazing. Its very inexpensive and is a good size sandwich for the price. There are always a ton of people when I go there, which is a good sign of business, people obviously love their food. On the other hand, service may be a little slow at times but that is not a big deal because they have delicious food. The wait staff is always very polite and respond quickly to any requests. Love this place.

All I have to say is that the taste, quality and value outshine other middle eastern places that I THOUGHT were the best.

Oh yes!! Got my Fattoush and Chx Shawarma on yesterday. DEEELiiisssHHHHHHHH!!!! I can see this place becoming a regular hang out for me. My sister and I, along with my 4 year old nephew, stopped in post condo shopping, and I'm so glad we did. We first started out at Jovan's steakhouse, but my sister is a vegetarian, and outside of salad, they literally had nothing on their menu for her. I suggested Cedar Kabob Cafe, as a good friend (Lebanese too), said it was really good. And he was sooooo right! First off...for the three of us, our bill was only $17.09......ah huh....yep....you smell what I'm steppin in!! I had a chicken shawarma sandwich and a small fattoush! The sandwich was huge, and the salad was nicely sized for a small. I was filled, stuffed, loaded, packed with happiness after eating this sandwich and salad. The shawarma was lucious!! I am remembering it fondly this morning....mmmm...mmmm......wonderful and garlicky!! So excited for another great authentic Middle Eastern cafe!! :-) Go go go NOW!!!!!

I am a big fan of Lebanese food. This place is by far my favorite. We order the deboned chicken dinner and receive a lot of food for the price not to mention the chicken is always tender and the rice is always juicy and delicious. Their garlic sauce is always really good and not too strong.

After a long morning of work, I quickly looked around for some suggestions for lunch in the area. After a previous disaster of trying to get some good Chicken Schwarma, I was in the mood for some Mediterranean. I saw that Cedar Kabob has some raving reviews, so it was quickly decided as to where I was going. I came in just after the lunch rush... so I sat down in a booth, and was promptly greeted. Before I knew it, I had some pita bread, garlic sauce, and a banana smoothie in front of me... and all of the food was tasting fantastic. I had a pretty good feeling that the Chicken Schwarma Pita that I had just ordered was going to be pretty much near perfection.. Sure enough... it did not disappoint. It was fantastic!!! The flavor was very bold and delightful. As I had finished my sandwich... I decided to take one for the road as well. The servers were more than happy to add onto my order, and were very prompt with keeping my beverages refilled. I will be sure to keep Cedar Kabob on my radar any time I'm in the area for lunch or dinner... because it is one of those places that you always remember thats around for a good meal.

I only ever get the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich to go since it's on my way home. Call ahead so you don't have to awkwardly stand around the register while you wait. I think I even saw a sign saying don't sit at the tables while you are waiting for your carryout. The place is almost always bustling. The parking lot is usually full in the strip mall where they are located. Did I say the Chicken Shawarma is AWESOME! Sometimes I go all out and pay extra for more garlic sauce to dip them in. Pure heaven for taste.

Holy Garlic Spread!!!! When I realized the Garlic Spread came with the pita and was complimentary, I felt like a kid at Christmas. As I polished off the second dish, I wondered when I would be cut off. But I wasn't cut off, and the waitress could tell how in love with the stuff I was so she gave me 2 to take home! Wowee!!!! At my former Mediterranean food establishment, you had to pay for the spread. Anyway...the service was great. The waitress was very sweet. I had Shish Tawook with rice and it was superb. The flavor was on point. My dad had the Lamb Kafta and it was very good as well. The rice was moist and delicious. The Chicken Lemon Rice soup was good but could use a little more rice and lemon. All in all, it was a terrific experience and I'll be returning.

Cedar Kabob is a favorite of mine when I visit Sterling Heights for work. I really enjoy this unassuming place in a strip mall off of Van Dyke Ave. The service staff is warm, friendly, and provide an authentic experience for all of their guests. What's that you say? You enjoy gigantic murals of majestic landscapes?!! Well, look no further than Cedar Kabob where the murals flow like wine. Hope you're ready to dine amongst snowy peaks in the middle of Sterling Heights, MI 'cause if you're dining in at Cedar Kabob, you have no choice but to enjoy these serene murals while sinking your teeth into a delicious falafel. On that note, get the lentil soup, falafel sandwich, and either a smoothie or baklava to round out your meal. You won't be disappointed and your wallet will thank you later. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has a hunger for Mediterranean food at an affordable price and requires their surrounding environment to be coated in acrylic paint...I know I do.

It's my second time here . So me and my friends came in to get something to go , we got the lamb and chicken schwarma dinner . Waited for a reasonable amount of time. The service was excellent the cashier let us know how long it will be and asked if we wanted pita bed and garlic bread since it came with it. When we got home the food was amazing , the chicken was by far the freshest grilled chicken strip I ever had. The garlic was the one that sealed the deal for me. The salad was fresh. I'll definitely tell more of my friends to stop by here. One of the best and freshest Mediterranean food I've had in a long time!

Let me first say, that complimentary garlic and bread is included when you dine in. The best dishes to have is the kabobs, ghallaba, Hommous , deboned chicken , lamb chops ,baba ghannooj , grape leaves , fattoush , Greek salad , tabouli , chicken shawarma sandwich is the best .

Went here for the first time today with my wife and her grandmother and I was throughly impressed. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and portions were stellar. My wife and I ordered the kabob meal for 2 which came with 2 fattoush salads, a hummus that could easily be shared with 4 people, 2 skewers of chicken kabob and a large plate of Middle Eastern rice. They also serve the whole table with pita bread and garlic sauce. The chicken kabobs were the juiciest chunks of chicken I think I have ever had as well as flavorful. The fattoush was hands down the best fattoush I've ever had. My wife's grandmother had a chicken shawarma sandwich along with trying all the food that we had. Her grandma was happily surprised (this was he first time eating middle eastern food) and said we have to come back. The service was good, even with the steady flow of people coming in for carry out. Little hole in the wall place with amazing food, definitely worth a try if you are in this neck of the woods.

They are located in a strip mall near Naruto sushi. One of the better places around warren to get Middle eastern food. Good food, waitstaff was also very efficient. Food came out a little slow but over all I would go back. They serve pitas with all the meals too so bring your appetite

Great food at affordable prices. I got the chicken shawarma fattoush salad. The chicken was SO succulent and the salad dressing wasn't overpowering. I love the garlic yogurt sauce that comes with the complementary pita. The service was also very attentive.

This is THE place. If you want delicious, plentiful, consistently great Lebanese food, just freaking come here. The quality of the food never changes ( you will never get food prepared by a cook having an "off" day) it is at least 20% cheaper than any other Lebanese joint within a 15 mile radius, and you get a mega ton of food. Order the Chicken Kabob dinner for two at $12 bucks and you get fattoush salad, soup, full size of hummous, tons of rice and two full skewers of chicken and veggies. For two people. For TWELVE BUCKS. If you want they will let you substitute the chicken out for lamb shawarma for no change in price. Plus, I'm willing to say that this place has the best garlic sauce in the area. Creamy, white and delicious. I used to live around the corner years ago and would eat here at least twice a week. Whenever I am back in town I make sure to stop by and the food quality has never changed. Now my parents come here every week. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a cheap, fantastic lebanese feast.

Everything is too good. The dinner selection has huge proportions and very varied. The lunch menu is under 8 bucks. As far as the food goes, it has heart. Not only is the food delicious, you get the most for your buck.

I've passed this place many times driving and finally decided to stop in today. I ordered chicken tawook sandwich. Super affordable $3.72 after tax! This was a good sandwich, however I prefer my garlic sauce to be more garlicky, theirs is a bit more on the creamy side. Also, the pickle and tomato in the sandwich were a bit mushier than I prefer, maybe bc tomatoes are out of season. The ladies working were super nice and friendly. I will be stopping by again to check out other items on their menu.

This place is wonderful. Friendly service, super clean and the food is delicious. The lamb & chicken shawarma is delightful and the chicken lemon rice is superb!! I will definitely go again!! A must try restaurant.

Always fresh and delicious above average dinner portions which is a plus. The food is always good. But for the first time. The chicken shawarma was not as char grilled as usual. Almost rushed to order. The chicken was good but again missing that extra flavor. Maybe an off night..... The dinner salad is giant enough for 4 people to share. Bottom line great value excellent food if you want Lebanese Mediterranean.

Time Arrived: 630pm, weekday Time Wait: 0 wait Party: 3 Atmosphere: Acceptable Food/Drink: I had the combo shwarma and it was freakin delicious. The combo comes with beef and chicken. I will have to say this is the first time I have had chicken in a VERY long time where it was juicy and not dried up. Nothing that I have had with similar flavor profile such as the cart on 52nd and 6th come even close. Coworkers had the lamb kebob and they all seemed to enjoy it. In terms of price for quantity and quality is also quite high in return. You get a TON of food for a fair price. Service: Acceptable Overall: A trip here for the chicken shwarma alone is worth it, a new place to add onto my the places I hit when I am in the area. Quick tip(s): The turkish coffee here is very good from what i hear, try it.

My FIRST visit and it won't be my last!! This place is SIMPLY AMAZING!!! EVERYTHING fresh and saying delicious would be a complete understatement!! We ordered the combo special for 2... enough food for 3 or even 4 people The garlic spread was out of this world which was served with pita bread prior to taking our order. I'm not a big fan of hommous, BUT I couldn't stop eating theirs. The combo special comes with 2 kabob, 2 tawook, 3 kafta, chicken shawarma & meat shawarma, 4 grape leaves, 4 falafel, 4 fried kibbeh, large hommous, rice and a large salad or fattoush. We had the fattoush. Again, more than enough food and carry out containers were needed. GREAT service and very friendly. I TRULY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE... You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back again!

This place is so freaking good that its annoying. Everytime I want to try something new, if Cedars ever crosses my mine..it trumps over eveything. Chicken shawarma, rice and any salad with the fresh garlic sauce. Enuff said !

We asked if the fries were coated with flour. They said no. They were. I got a kabob, and asked for it medium rare. I got it blue. I asked what was in the lentil soup, they said just lentils. I knew that wasn't true, but I got it anyway. It had rice pilaf in it, with vermicelli noodles. Yeah,,,,a pretty poor experience to be sure.

This restaurant is definitely awesome! I walked in the restaurant and there was only one other table taken at the time - Sunday at 12:30. I told the waitress I was expecting about 7 people and she immediately went into action and put two tables together (side by side like a box), added chairs and place settings and sat me down. Asked me if I wanted anything to drink and so I ordered a cup of coffee. While I sat and waited for family members to arrive I looked around. Clean, the staff are respectful of each other, and the food she served to the other table looked delicious! Yum..... Finally, the family arrived - 5 adults, one 10 year old, and one 4 year old. She gave us a few minutes to chitty chat and look at the menu. We ordered 2 specials and 1 combination for 2 people! OMG - the food she brought was amazing. Starting off with the garlic dipping sauce and salads, the fatoosh was great - I don't know how you could do better = A; then came the main meals. Chicken Schwarma, Chicken kabob, Chicken kafta, beef kafta, beef kabobs, baked kibbe, grape leaves, falafel - OMG it was a non-stop feast along with plenty of rice!!! My daughter-in-law took a lot of food home with her and I took some with me - I fed on that food for 4 additional meals! And, with each meal it was like totally different from the one before because of all the different foods included in the carry-out. There were 5 different containers - I took 2 and the wonderful daughter-in-law took 3. The waitress came back with pita bread, refills on pop and coffee and the service was oh-so exceptional! This restaurant is definitely a mid eastern delicacy. It is located in a small strip-mall, but this restaurant is definitely worth it. Oh, by the way, when the bill came we were all so surpised - in a good way, for 7 people the bill came to less than $50!!!! By far this restaurant is a do again!

Excellent food! Came here and got some beef and it was well flavored. Portion was large, and it came with lots of pita bread and was priced a couple bucks (seemingly) below other places in the area. Salad was large and delicious, and I couldn't eat even half of the food I got, so needless to say had some leftovers. You won't be disappointed if you come here. Only thing I would say...I wish they made their own pita bread!!! I saw them taking it out of a package. Also, I'd much rather get carry out as the atmosphere is a bit too open for me. But the food is very much worth the visit here.

Best Lebanese restaurant in the area. We have tried many others, but have not lived up to Cedar kabob. Great prices, huge portions, and quality ingredients. The shish tawook sandwiches are awesome!

I used to come here regularly for lunch when I worked in the area, and now I'm wondering how my coworkers ever put up with the awesome garlic breath it gave me! That being said, their portions are large and very reasonably priced. I'd recommend the Chicken Shawarma sandwich, Chicken Shawarma platter, Chicken Fattoush salad, and the Lentil soup. Service can be slow if it's busy, so I always try to go about 30 minutes either way from the normal lunch rush times.

Good food, terrible service! I went in to pick up my food and the girl who was working the phone orders and the customers was on her phone the entire time. I was appalled to see that she went and served the customers while on her phone still, laughing and talking to whomever she was talking to! The customers she was serving dared to ask her a question and she just gives them a head nod. Must've been a very important call. Then she had the audacity of serving me while still on her phone. I gave her a look like are you serious? But she didn't care she continued. I let that instance go because their food actually does taste good! Theeeeeen...I call today! The same girl picks up. Utterly unprofessional. Laughing and talking to others while trying to take my order. I was so annoyed and disappointed that I told her never mind and that I would be ordering elsewhere! They have absolutely lost my business!

  • Teresa ..

I absolutely love this place! My family, friends, and I always order Chicken Shawarma sandwiches and Fattoush salad to go. What's nice is that they use white meat chicken compared to other places that use dark meat. It is always flavorful and very good! The garlic sauce they put in it is perfect. We have also ordered other combinations before, but still find ourselves returning to the Chicken Shawarma sandwiches! The pita bread and garlic sauce is really delicious, as well. They give a huge portion for the Fattoush salad, that's enough to share! So don't order one big one for yourself! :) So glad that this place is right by my house.! The only thing I wish is that they wouldn't close so early all the time!

On my quest to find the perfect falafel......The unanimous 5 star yelp reviews led me to Sterling Heights. I ordered the broiled chicken, rice, hummus, fattoush, a strawberry/banana/honey smoothie, and of course, the falafel. Here's my amateur culinary critique. Chicken- good char-broiled flavor, moist, not overcooked. Rice- cooked to perfection, with slivered almonds/spices. Hummus- not at all creamy, bitter, stiff. Fattoush- very fresh, great sumac flavor, crunchy, light. Smoothie- excellent fresh taste and consistency. Falafel- It arrived a beautiful golden brown, not dark dark brown like other restaurants' rendition. After biting into it, I found out why it is usually fried so dark. It was a gooey, wet, soft, fava bean/garbanzo mush. The sauce supplied seemed like hummus mixed with a thinning liquid. Not Good Eats. In summary, If I am in the area and want chicken, fatoosh, rice, and a smoothie, OK. If I want the best falafel, and hummus, I go back to the best Middle Eastern restaurant area- in Dearborn.

Not very many people there. Clean, well kept looking. This was my first visit to Cedar Kabob and cafe (it definitely will not be my last) I enjoyed the fattoush salad and the shawarma plate. I got the shawarma plate with beef and chicken to try both of them. The chicken was very well done, not overly cooked like a lot of places chicken. The beef was loaded with flavor and pretty tender. Very happy with the whole meal and the price for what you get is great.

After reading all the positive reviews my wife and I decided to have a weekend lunch here. The garlic sauce they bring with the pita was extremely tasty. I had a chicken schwarma and I was not disappointed. Absolutely delicious. We also tried the hummus appetizer (size small was perfect for 2 people) which was very good. My wife had the chicken with lemon rice soup and a chicken kabob plate. She absolutely loved the soup and was too full to touch the kabob. We saved it for later and it was also excellent (chicken was tender and juicy with awesome flavor). We will definitely be going back, this is our new go-to for Lebanese food.

My update is just that I freakin MISS this place! Ugh, just wrote my review for a Dearborn restaurant but honestly this is my fav. I had moved after years of living across the street......I will make a trip out for your fab hummus and other items..(just thinking of that fab hummos now...). 1 big fat point for Sterling Heights.

I have to give this place some credit on the amount and quality of the food your get for the price. In an effort to try a few of their menu items in one dinner, I ordered one of their sampler platters and got enough food for three meals. The beef and chicken kabobs were REALLY good and well cooked - kudos for that! The lamb kafta was very good, though I can't say I was super impressed with the chicken. Veggies were cooked well ...over all, pretty tasty.

Cedar is hands down the best Mediterranean food I've had. It's a small hole-in-the-wall diner-type place, but it's amazing, fresh, and flavorful food. Most places you go (Ike's, etc.) the tabouli is soggy and tired-looking, but theirs is always super fresh and a vibrant green. Even the next day the leftovers are fresher than you get served at other places. Portions are huge, so plan to order fewer entrees and share, or take a LOT of leftovers home. The two chefs, Hassan and Ali are super nice, but the waitstaff have been a bit hit or miss as they got the business going. Still, the food is well worth it! I no longer live in Detroit, but this is one of the few places I HAVE to hit every time I'm home. We've hooked a lot of our friends, and chances are you'll be hooked too!

I live in Washington DC now, but every time I come home I try to plan a trip to Cedar... I even had my mom bring some take out from Cedar to my sister's place in Cleveland over Thanksgiving I missed it so much! This really is a hole in the wall strip mall diner, but the staff are extremely friendly, and most importantly, the food is divine. I haven't eaten anything there I haven't liked, and I think we've gone through at least half of the menu. We always end up sharing since the portions are so big. Definitely make sure whatever you get comes with hummus or order a side of it - I have never had such creamy hummus, even when I make it myself. Their fresh juices and smoothies are also a great compliment to your meal. As far as entrees, there's really no way to go wrong, although I've always enjoyed the falafel and the chicken shwarma best.

If I lived in the area I'd be a regular. Good food at a good price and plenty of it. Clean restaurant with speedy service.

All I have to say is that the taste, quality and value outshine other middle eastern places that I THOUGHT were the best.

Everything is too good. The dinner selection has huge proportions and very varied. The lunch menu is under 8 bucks. As far as the food goes, it has heart. Not only is the food delicious, you get the most for your buck.

Everything was excellent. I am still partial to La Saj being our favorite but definitely will be eating here again!
